Terms of Service

Effective Date: 2026

By accessing or using SiliconSpace ("SiliconSpace", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Description of the Service

SiliconSpace is a cloud-based platform that provides managed access to open-source electronic design automation (EDA) tools for chip design workflows. The service executes user-submitted jobs on managed infrastructure and returns generated outputs and reports.

SiliconSpace does not provide fabrication services and does not guarantee fabrication readiness.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User Content and Intellectual Property

3.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all RTL, design files, scripts, and other materials you upload or generate using SiliconSpace ("User Content").

SiliconSpace does not claim ownership of your designs.

3.2 Responsibility for Uploaded Content

You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to upload, use, and process all User Content submitted to the platform, including compliance with any applicable open-source licenses, proprietary restrictions, or confidentiality obligations.

SiliconSpace does not verify ownership, originality, or licensing of User Content.

3.3 License to Operate the Service

You grant SiliconSpace a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use User Content solely for the purpose of operating the service, including executing EDA tools, generating outputs, and storing results as requested by you.

3.4 Public Projects

If you choose to make a project public (e.g., in the Workshop), you are responsible for ensuring that the content may be legally shared. Public content may be reported and removed if it is alleged to violate intellectual property rights.

4. Open-Source Tools

SiliconSpace uses open-source EDA tools. These tools are governed by their respective licenses.

SiliconSpace does not modify, relicense, or restrict your ability to use these tools outside the platform. You are free to run the same tools locally if you choose.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you do not have rights to use
  • Attempt to bypass platform security or isolation
  • Abuse compute resources or interfere with other users
  • Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access
  • Use the service for illegal purposes

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.

6. Compute Limits and Fair Use

SiliconSpace applies resource limits (including CPU cores, memory, runtime, and storage) to ensure fair and reliable service for all users.

Limits may vary by plan and may change over time. Excessive or abusive usage may result in throttling, job termination, or account suspension.

7. Takedown and Abuse Reporting

If you believe content on SiliconSpace infringes your intellectual property rights or violates these Terms, contact us at abuse@siliconspace.io with sufficient detail.

We will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include content removal or account suspension.

8. Fabrication Disclaimer

SiliconSpace generates industry-standard design outputs such as GDSII files. We do not provide fabrication services or guarantees.

You are solely responsible for verifying DRC/LVS compliance, meeting foundry requirements, and determining fabrication readiness.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." SiliconSpace makes no warranties regarding correctness, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

EDA results may contain errors. You are responsible for verification.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SiliconSpace shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to SiliconSpace in the past 12 months.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

Upon termination, your access to the service may be removed, but ownership of your designs remains with you.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
